LOS ANGELES (P) Actress Karen Black as a male homosexual? The month's most offbeat casting takes place in a stu-~ dent film.

Sherwin Tilton, a student at the Los Angeles Art Center College, submitted the script for a class project to Miss Black. She agreed to appear free in the short, if her role as a loose woman were changed to a male homosexual.

Tilton consented, and the actress played the role during time off from Al-

fred Hitchcock's "The Family Plot."

Miss Black explained she had been wanting to play such a role ever since she saw Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon switch genders in "Some Like It Hot."
